Capacity-on-demand makes new business models possible:
Buy or rent with flexibility
 |
As the planning horizon gets shorter and shorter in electronics manufacturing, order fluctuations are no longer seasonal, but a permanent component of unpredictability. That is why having a production environment that is able to "breathe" is now more important than ever. "Capacity-on-demand" is the keyword. In the presentation titled "Capacity-on-Demand on the Factory Floor" on November 12 at 3 PM in the SIPLACE In-House Arena, you can find out valuable details about this concept and what solutions SIPLACE is offering to adapt performance and feeder capacity independently.

The new SIPLACE SX will be demonstrated "live" at the Productronica. In this workshop you will learn what else the capacity-on-demand concept can offer for your production. We put capacity-on-demand to the test. When experienced industry consultants Simon, Kucher & Partners analyzed capacity-on-demand with SIPLACE customers all over the world, they found out: capacity-on-demand exceeds expectations and harbors huge potential for completely new business models in your production. Get ideas for your own factory floor. Find out how SIPLACE customers from many different industries plan to deploy capacity-on-demand in the future, and discuss with the experts how to adjust more efficiently to fluctuating order volumes.

Business models with SIPLACE SX
Since the SIPLACE SX gantries with their rail mounting system can be easily added, removed, transferred to another line or even rented via the new "Rent-a-Gantry" service, electronics manufacturers can for the first time scale the placement performance of their SMT lines and adjust their production capacity to current products and fluctuating order volumes. Depending on the configuration and the manufacturer’s business model, the SIPLACE SX opens the door to completely new short-term as well as long-term investment concepts — for example, for electronics manufacturers who can only plan for the short term, for electronics manufacturers who must be able to quickly upgrade their lines when demand increases, for electronics manufacturers who must meet one or more seasonal demand peaks, or for electronics manufacturers who must be able to meet their customer’s rising order volumes and increasing product diversity with exceptional flexibility.
For each of these challenges, the SIPLACE SX provides the matching configuration, because the SX gantries and placement heads can be purchased or rented separately. Another interesting option for manufacturers wanting to reduce their fixed assets is the SIPLACE SX+ model without any gantries and heads. This level of modularity allows electronics manufacturers to invest specifically in more performance with replaceable SIPLACE SX gantries or in more feeder capacity and thus more flexibility by adding one or more SIPLACE SX+ basic modules.
