The alternative to the single-track feeder:
New, more cost-efficient 2x8-mm SIPLACE X feeder

With the new 2x8-mm SIPLACE X feeder, customers now have access to a new member of the SIPLACE family of X feeders. From now on, the cost-effective SIPLACE X dual-track feeder will be the standard feeder for SIPLACE X-Series and SX-Series placement machines. As an alternative, the 8-mm single-track X feeder will continue to be available, a model that is particularly attractive for high-mix production environments.

Optimized price-performance ratio
Compared against two SIPLACE X single-track feeders, the new SIPLACE X dual-track feeder delivers a significant cost advantage while offering many of the essential features of SIPLACE X feeders.
Improved usability
For improved handling, the dual-track feeder features an integrated handle that makes carrying the feeder easier. The innovative pick-up window and the intelligent tape guide provide for easy mounting and tear-down, even if no power is being supplied. A clear LED display shows important information. As with all SIPLACE X feeders, a multicolor status display indicates the feeder’s operation conditions. For example, if a component is about to run out, the automatic fill level control switches the LED from green to orange, giving the operator enough time to splice on a new reel.
Innovative technology
Robust, brushless motors extend the feeder’s life cycle. Photoelectric sensors ensure maximum reliability and precision for components as small as 0201. All 8-mm X dual-track feeders support "feeding on demand", i.e. the feeder supplies the component only when its is about to be picked up to keep it protected in the tape pocket for as long as possible. This feature reduces waste and improves the feeding process considerably.
Easy setup verification
Each SIPLACE X feeder has a unique ID number. Scanning the component’s barcode assigns it to the appropriate track. This provides the foundation for solid setup verification and traceability.
Single-track feeder as alternative for high-mix environments
Particularly in high-mix environments, on the other hand, continuing to use the flexible 8-mm X feeders quickly pays off. They enable the use of the SIPLACE Line Execution System, which often achieves significant productivity improvements in such environments, in addition to being able to feed 01005 components.
